Sky Sport Report: Hazard reveals two significant players that are improving Chelsea’s football at the moment
Eden Hazard has clearly indicated that he is enjoying life at Stamford Bridge after praising the football style under new manager.
The 27-year-old started the season brilliantly and scored his second goal of the campaign in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth, which gave Chelsea four wins in four.
Hazard was linked several times with Real Madrid in the summer and insinuated, after helping Belgium to third place in the World Cup, that his preference was to leave Chelsea.
The move didn’t materialize and Hazard, now in his seventh season at Stamford Bridge, is enjoying the football style of new head coach, Sarri.
I like to have the ball, not in my own half, but in the last 30 meters, Hazard told Chelsea TV.
I like this kind of game, it’s completely different from Conte or Mourinho’s style. We have more of ball so for me it’s not bad.
Hazard’s contract expires in 2020 and an extension is nowhere in sight but he is not showing any signs that he’s unhappy.
Hazard was a substitute in the first two Chelsea games of the season, but he played a decisive role in the victory over Arsenal and then started and scored against Newcastle and the cherries.
He understood the decision of the coach to introduce him slowly into club football and seems happy to just take things one at a time with the club.
When asked how he was doing, Hazard said, Good, you can see on the field, Let’s see the future.
The arrival of Jorginho, who followed Sarri from Napoli, and Mateo Kovacic, on loan from Real Madrid, have given Chelsea a different dimension, says Hazard. It’s not that different from the past.
The big difference is that we bring two players: Jorginho and Kovacic, and they’re completely different.
We just try to keep the ball more often and then, when we have the opportunity to score, we need to score.
But when we have more of the ball, we can be more dangerous.
We are playing good football, so we enjoy. I want to maintain this momentum, the blues star added.
