Spanish international Cesc Fabregas’s move to Monaco is a pained move for Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri who had struck a formidable relationship with the 30-year-old. Chelsea refused to hand the midfielder an extended deal despite Sarri earmarking him as a rare player, with too similar specifications like his midfield executioner Jorginho.

The Italian joined last summer when Sarri took the helm after a delightful spell at Napoli, though his departure was subject to controversy.

However, with Fabregas gone, Chelsea are grasping at the straws to salvage the loss. The Blues have scoured the transfer window and it appears one man has been marked to wear the shoes of the former Chelsea player.

According to the Express, the

the 24-year-old has been part of the Zenit squad having medicals today with the club posting an image on their social media.

Chelsea fans clocked onto the tweet, which shows Paredes having an eye test, and were quick to react.
