Mourinho to make 6 changes – Strongest 4-3-3 Manchester United XI to face Tottenham

Predicted Manchester United XI to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League
Manchester United face Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night at Old Trafford. United suffered an unexpected and embarrassing defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion in their second game of the season and they must bounce back from it straight away.

United have lost only two matches to Spurs at Old Trafford in the history of the Premier League and Jose Mourinho has to ensure that the number doesn’t go up.

Spurs, on the other hand, have won both their opening fixtures and should aim to pick up yet another victory.

Team News
Alexis Sanchez had suffered a minor knock in the training before the Brighton game, meaning he remains doubtful for this one as well. Meanwhile, Antonio Valencia and Nemanja Matic should be available for selection.

Probable Manchester United XI to face Tottenham Hotspur

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager:  Jose Mourinho

David De Gea (GK)
De Gea conceded 3 goals at Amex Stadium as his defenders let him down time and again. He must aim to pick up his first clean sheet of the season against Tottenham.

Antonio Valencia (RB)
Ashley Young had a poor game against Brighton and Valencia’s return should be a happy sight for United fans.

Chris Smalling (CB)
Smalling was one of Jose’s most trusted players last season as he made 43 appearances in all competitions. After a terrible game from Eric Bailly, Smalling should receive a start against Harry Kane and co.

Phil Jones (CB)
Victor Lindelof didn’t exactly cover himself in glory as he left Glenn Murray unmarked for the first Brighton goal last weekend. Hence, Jones should receive a chance to partner Smalling at the heart of the United defence.

Ashley Young (LB)
Luke Shaw was injured at Amex Stadium and due to a lack of options, Young should receive a start.

Nemanja Matic (CDM)
Andreas Pereira was probably one of the best players for United in the opening game against Leicester City but the youngster failed to impose himself at Brighton. Matic’s return at the heart of midfield should bring in a sense of calmness to the whole United side.

Paul Pogba (LCM)
Even Pogba had a poor game by his standards last Sunday as he failed to find his teammates with his through balls and quick passes. But Matic’s presence should boost his confidence against Spurs.

Fred (RCM)
The Brazilian, like most of his teammates, had a game to forget last weekend. In familiar surroundings at Old Trafford, he should aim to show his trickery to the club’s faithful.

Jesse Lingard (RW)
Lingard came off the bench at half-time in place of Juan Mata, who had a terrible first-half at Amex Stadium last weekend. Lingard looked lively in his 45-minute cameo and he should nail the right-wing spot for now.

Marcus Rashford (LW)
A poor game from Anthony Martial should be enough for Mourinho to hand a start to Marcus Rashford.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)
Lukaku started his first game of the season against Brighton and scored his first goal as well. He should continue his good form against Spurs.
