England suffered a devastating incident in an under-21 friendly at the Stadio Paolo Mazza when defender Jake Clarke-Salter took a knock to his ankle in the clash.

But Premier League club Chelsea will take a deeper cut from the disappointing event. Clarke-Salter plays for the Premier League club and former holders of the trophy.

Clarke-Salter was pictured hobbling off the pitch due to the sharp sting in his leg from the incident on Thursday.

He’s notched up a good tally of 12 games in his new club and his stoutly and torely presence in Arnhem in their backlines, have given him the status of a revered defender. It’s no wonder he being hunted by clubs across Europe.
