Maurizio Sarri personally confirm the imminent sale of some Chelsea players

Chelsea have a squad size of more than 28 players and head coach Maurizio Sarri expects some departure from the club.  The transfer window in other major leagues such as Italy, France Germany and Spain is still open until August 31st.

Sarri speaking to reporters ahead of the premier league game against Huddersfield revealed that he would ideally love to trim the squad size.

Several Chelsea first team players have left on loan with Kurt Zouma and Michy Batshuayi the latest to move to Everton and Valencia respectively. A number of Chelsea players are have been linked to exits with  Bakayako thought to be close to a move to Milan. Drinkwater is also linked with a move away from Chelsea with several Spanish clubs interested in the 28-year-old midfielder.

Sarri ideally wants to work with a limited number of players ideally 24 players according to him.

“I think The squad is too large. Some players have to go on loan but I don’t know who at the moment.

“I prefer to have 23 or 24 players and three of four young players and no more.”

Chelsea were among the winners this summer in the transfer bringing in Jorginho from Napoli and breaking the world record fee for a Goalkeeper signing kepa from Athletic Bilbao.

They have also managed to keep Willian and Hazard crucially which could be huge for the London club. Chelsea finished 5th last season leading to the exit of Antonio Conte.
