Nelson like several young Guns joined Arsenal when he was only nine but he broke into the first team of Arsene Wenger’s squad at 17 after impressing for the side during their pre-season tour.
Nelson was trusted to play a couple of games for Arsenal last season including games in the Premier league and it appears that his development has pleased Unai Emery to hand him a brand new deal.
According to the Sun, he will sign a five-year contract with the North London outfit, where he will be rewarded with a bogus pay-rise. He only signed his first professional contract with Arsenal two years ago.
It was heavily speculated that Nelson would be sent on a loan spell to further accelerate his development following the competition for places in the attack of Arsenal. Alas, Sun journalist Daniel Cutts has debunked that claim.
Nelson has been tipped to have a bright future, with England and Arsenal.
He will be looking follow the path of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Alex Iwobi who are the latest academy graduate to be in the first team of the Gunners squad.
