Barcelona Squad for Champions League revealed: Ernesto Valverde submits 25-man list for 2018/19 group stage

Barcelona are desperate to end three years of European hurt in this year's Champions League.
The Catalans have seen their great rivals Real Madrid claim all of the last three titles, despite Barca's dominance of the game domestically in Spain.

Champions League success is the one that everyone at the Nou Camp wants and they will be optimistic that this can be their year - despite being handed a tough group.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are again leading the way for Barca, as the squads have been revealed for this year's competition.

Here is the 25-man squad that Barcelona have submitted for this year's group stage...

Barcelona squad 2018/19

The rules for the list are quite simple: there is a 25-man ‘A list’ of which two players must be goalkeepers. At least eight places must go to ‘locally trained players’. If a club can only field seven locally trained players, their squad size is reduced to 24 (or six down to 23, five to 22 etc). Any players born on January 1997 or thereafter do not have to be included in the ‘A list’.

Can clubs make changes to their squad list?

Clubs can make changes to their squads if they get through the knockout stages.

A maximum of three changes can be made for the knockout stage of the competition, with the deadline for changes at midnight on February 1 2019.
