Good News: Former Gunner set for stunning return to Arsenal in the Summer

Former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars is the front runner to be the new director of football at the Emirates this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Overmars is currently the Director of football at Ajax and the Eredevise side have denied that he has been approached by the Gunners.

However, he is reported to be among the candidates under consideration at the Arsenal as his CV fits their criteria.

The club’s head of football Raul Sanllehi is said to be leading the search, and will also look for candidates in Spain.

Josh Kroneke who is the son of club owner Stan Kroneke is expected to speak with prospective candidates.

Overmars and Sanllehi have a lot in common as they are both well grounded in the football philosophy of both Ajax and Barcelona while the former also has experience in the Premier league having played for Arsenal during his professional days.

Former Sevilla director Monchi is also said to be in the running for the job.

The transfer guru who is now on the books of AS Roma made his name during his days at Sevilla and will be difficult to price away from Rome as he is currently on a good pay at the Serie A side.

Monchi and Emery are said to have had an excellent working relationship during their days at Sevilla and that could be a factor when the Gunners make a move for him.

Former Gunners midfielder Edu is also under consideration but seems to prefer to stay in his current role at the Brazilian FA.
