Chelsea ready to sanction transfer agreement for two-time Champions League winner, not Higuain

 Maurizio Sarri
Chelsea are reportedly close to sanctioning the departure of Alvaro Morata to Atletico Madrid on an initial loan move. The Spaniard has failed to convince manager Maurizio Sarri over his abilities this term and it appears that he is parting ways with the club with a replacement already found.

According to Sky Sports News, the Blues are close to reaching an agreement over the transfer of Morata to Atletico Madrid. The west London side are said to want a permanent deal worth £45m for the two-time Champions League, but they could still permit his return to the Spanish capital on loan, provided Atleti include the obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Morata’s departure from the west London giants is expected to coincide with the signing of Gonzalo Higuain, who has a good association with Sarri from their days together at Napoli.

The Argentine enjoyed his best-ever scoring season when Sarri was at the helm with the Naples outfit and a reunion at the Bridge could revive the striker’s career which has gone through a difficult patch this term.

Higuain is currently contracted to AC Milan on a temporary basis at the moment but his deal should be terminated in the near future before Juventus permit him to make the switch to the Premier League.

The Blues are likely to have the option to extend Higuain’s loan contract by another season if required, while they can also purchase him outright from the Bianconeri during this period.
