Chelsea transfer round-up: negotiations over Englishman, out-of-favour star to leave, full-back not for sale

Galatasaray owner Mustafa Cengiz and Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia are locked in negotiations over the potential transfer of Gary Cahill to the Turkish giants, Turkish Football report.

Galatasaray are keen to land a central defender before the transfer market closes on September 1st and Cahill is believed to be a number one priority for the club.

The Turkish club missed out on signing Manchester City central defender Jason Denayer this week after he signed for the Ligue 1 side Lyon.

Denayer had spent the previous season on loan in Turkey, helping the Yellow-Reds to their 21st League title.

But now the club are interested in tying up a deal for England international Garry Cahill with a formal offer prepared to be tabled.

Cahill has just one year left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge and has not yet been offered a new deal with the club, despite making 43 matches for the Blues last season.

The 32-year-old star has not featured in either of the Blues’ opening two Premier League fixtures and could be tempted by the chance of regular senior-team football and Champions League football with Galatasaray.
