The highly rated midfield prospect is having something of a breakthrough season after making his competitive debut for the club in the Europa league and making his first competitive start in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
He has taken his chances well so far, impressing both fans, teammates and the manager alike, and as such has made a strong case for more chances this season.
The 11 caps England under-18s international’s progress has been rapid in recent times, and he would be expected to follow the common tradition of going out on loan to gain more steady first team experience.
However, he has impressed the boss well enough and the manager has decided to keep him in the team rather than sending him out on loan.
Speaking to the media, the youngster revealed his talks with Unai Emery and the final decision “We also spoke about my development and the boss was clear that I remain at the club and not go out on loan.”
