Liverpool Legend-Michael Owen states his prediction for Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur

Michael Owen is confident that Arsenal will hold Tottenham Hotspur to a draw in the north London derby at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs will be buoyed by their 1-0 victory over Serie A giants Inter Milan at Wembley on Wednesday night to keep their hopes of reaching the Champions League last 16 alive.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will need to better Inter Milan’s result against PSV Eindhoven when Spurs make the trip to defending La Liga champions FC Barcelona.

Tottenham are in third place and three points ahead of Arsenal thanks to their best-ever start to a Premier League season ahead of their derby clash in the red half of north London.

Spurs were 1-0 winners against Arsenal in their last Premier League meeting at Wembley, but the Gunners eased to a 2-0 victory over Pochettino’s side at The Emirates back in November 2017.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Arsenal and Tottenham to share the spoils in the north London derby at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

“North London rivals Arsenal and Spurs can always be relied upon to entertain especially when facing each other and another exciting encounter looks on the cards in a cracking super Sunday match up,” Owen told BetVictor.

“The Gunners will feel more pressure to win to close a three point gap and the race to finish in the top four looks likely to be between the three big London clubs.

“Arsenal were unconvincing but still picked up maximum points from their trip to Bournemouth and in forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have a man in form and one of the deadliest marksman in the top flight.

“Of course both teams look full of goals and a high scoring shootout looks likely. I still can’t trust either to win though and am happy to predict a 2-2 finish.”

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 11 games in the Premier League thanks to a return of eight victories and three stalemates to make significant progress under Unai Emery.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have the best away record in the Premier League following seven victories and one loss following a 2-1 defeat at Watford in September.
