The 32-year-old former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder’s current contract expires at the end of the season and he is permitted to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 1, which would allow him to move in the summer.

The likes of Milan and Juventus have been just two clubs linked with a possible swoop and there has been some suggestions in the media which claimed that Chelsea may look to offload the Spaniard for a small fee rather than letting him leave the club for nothing in a few months time.
But despite the fact that Fabregas is not getting the kind of game time he wants, he has admitted that it is very likely that he will stay at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season, telling the Sky Sports website: “Obviously in January I can sign (a pre-contract agreement) with whoever I want and probably this will attract many clubs. But so far, from what I can say right now, yes I will stay here until the end of the season.
“I play at Stamford Bridge, I’m happy. That’s the most important thing. But of course, every player wants to play more.”

Fabregas made the shock move to Chelsea way back in 2014 after his time at Barcelona failed to hit the heights that many expected, and although he has been a loyal servant to the club, Maurizio Sarri is planning for the future and is lining up a number of alternatives to the Spanish star.
Is it the perfect time for Fabregas and Chelsea to part ways?
Fabregas has been brilliant at times for Chelsea over the seasons and many have admired what he has helped the club achieve during his stay, but with so much quality at the club now Sarri has arrived, it is the perfect time for him to leave the club and seek a fresh challenge in Italy.
Serie A is less physically demanding then the Premier League and Fabregas will probably walk into any team in Italy, so it is the perfect time for him to leave at the end of the season.
