Report: Striker with 22 goals, 6 assists already this season reveals his sudden Arsenal connection

14-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko is a name you will be hearing a lot more of in the future and the kid called “probably the greatest talent in German football” by the media hails Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as ‘a big brother’ even though he is now in London.

Youssoufa Moukoko currently plays for Borussia Dortmund and ‘almost single-handedly’ won them the u17 league and cup despite only turning 14 a few days ago.

This season, he has 22 goals and six assists in just 12 games in the B-Junioren Bundesliga West, averaging a goal every 42 minutes.

Last season he scored 40 (with seven assists) in 28 games. Needless to say, a talent of that size has not gone unnoticed across the footballing world and he is already being linked with a move away.

“The last season has been tough for me, with all the stories,” Moukoko said in his first interview with Sport Bild, adding, almost apologetically, “I cannot help it going so well.”

Although he is barely out of nappies, he has a clear plan for his future, aiming to be with the u19s by next summer. His ambitions get loftier after that. “To be honest, my goal is to become a pro in Dortmund, to win the Champions League with Borussia and win the Ballon d’Or,” he said

This is where Aubameyang comes in. Moukoko is hoping to learn from the hitman and the pair still maintain a close relationship, even though Auba left Germany for north London. “He’s like a big brother to me, giving me tips, telling me what’s good, but also what’s not so good,” Moukoko said.

Moukoko’s representative, Patrick Williams, is doing his best to play down the hype surrounding the youngster. “There are plenty of examples of young players who were jazzed up too early, a kick [injury] and everything may be over,” Williams said.
