Arsenal are understood to have ended contract negotiations with midfielder Aaron Ramsey after knowing that the Welshman does not fit into the scheme of things under manager Unai Emery.
The midfielder had been in discussions with the Gunners over a new deal since the start of 2018 and just when he was about to sign an extension, the hierarchy rescinded the proposal on the table in September.
Ramsey has since been told that his deal would be renewed at any cost and this has thereby freed him to discuss a pre-contract move to an overseas club with the transfer window now officially reopened.

According to ESPN, the club appear unlikely to re-consider the contract decision with regards to Ramsey, given the Welshman does not fit the profile of being the ‘ideal midfielder’ under the tutelage of Emery.
The 28-year-old certainly does possess a tireless workrate on the playing field but Emery is deemed to want higher energy levels from the midfielder rather than the focus being on just the endurance part of the game.
Ramsey has racked over 350 appearances during the course of his Gunners career and during this period, he has come out with a number of standout displays including a couple in the FA Cup finals in 2014 and 2017.
Despite this, he has struggled with regularly muscular injury concerns, particularly when he has built up a good run of form and this has brought up the frustration among a major section of the Gunners faithful.
